30-Day Challenge!

Hello All!

How’s it going everyone? For those Canadians reading, enjoying the long weekend?

Here in Vancouver the weather is gorgeous. Warm, sunny, just beautiful. My friends and I enjoyed it outside shopping on Robson street. It was lovely to just be walking around downtown when it wasn’t crazily busy.

I ended up buying a lovely pair of leggings and a shirt dress. Super cute together, and hopefully with other pieces of my growing wardrobe.

My friend and I ended our shopping trip by going to Safeway. Oh yeah, I’e been running low on groceries (no peanut butter!!!!!!!) recently, so a grocery shopping trip was definitely in order.


Look at all the loot!!!!!!! (I know, you’re all like, why do I care about the food??? Where’s the dress and leggings?? 😉 )

Anyway, I bought this food with a plan in mind. I have meal ideas for most of these. I plan to roast that eggplant, the mushrooms tomatoes in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Yum yum.  (*drool*)

I will also chop up the broccolli and use it with the carrots and baby bells for snacks. yum. I bought bananas specifically with oatmeal in mind!

This evening, I cooked spaghetti squash for the first time ever with my friend Joyce. I baked it, then mixed it with a spaghetti-style sauce (can diced tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, and spices.) topped with a little cheddar cheese. It was so good.

And this brings me to my topic of the day…..

30-Day Challenge!

This is what I look like 3/3 meals a day:


Okay maybe a little less masculine, and I would probably not be eating a sandwich with white bread or some mystery meat, but the basic idea is there.

So I’m sure many of you know the dangers of eating when distracted. Supposedly, it can lead to obesity or something. 😛 Not sure how I feel about that. But as a person who pretty much eats every meal in front of the computer (I’m not joking either) I think it’s time I start listening to the advice and stop eating in front of the computer or the TV.

So my challenge? (to myself and those who want to join)

To eat one meal a day at my kitchen table without any technology. That’s right. Hopefully I can make this dinner, or find a time when my roommates are eating. I might allow myself a book, but really, how bad can one meal a day without my computer be? 😉 As a student, who pretty much lives on her computer, it might be tougher than you think.

But today I successfully ate dinner with Joyce. Okay, the TV was on, but I wasn’t looking at it, in fact I couldn’t even see it from where I was sitting…

So whose with me? 😉

And for you Canadians out there, what are you having for thanksgiving? What’s your favorite part of the meal?

    I could really benefit with this challenge, cause i’m just like you and i tend to eat in front of my computer or tv ALL the time. I’m going to try real real hard! 🙂 Great idea girl!


  2. It’s funny, when I was living my previous adult life, I would eat in front of the computer/tv all.the.time. But now that I’ve moved back home in my student life, I generally eat breakfast & dinner at the kitchen table, sans technology. We still sit down and have family dinners when we can.
